I remember this quote from a famous preacher, Bishop Oyedepo, who said “Become too hard on yourself until your body responds to the challenges of your goals”. This quotes has transformed me in a special way and I will be sharing some of my experiences with you today.
In part one of this series, I talked about how I started gaining interest in Digital Tech and what my experience has been throughout. In this episode, I will be talking about some specific instances, what it has cost me be where I’m today.
Even before you continue reading this, I want you to know that everything on this earth has a price, and it is until you pay the price that you will you be able to obtain the crown.
My journey growing up in a very busy intensive farming community of M’muock was a very demanding, yet equally very interesting: After school, we had to help our parents in the farm, but then, when others went to bed in the night, my curiosity will always make me keep late nights exploring digital tools and technologies including my radio and telephone; this opened more doors for research and discovery. I thank God because my curiosity for digital Tech acted as a catalyst to my studies, as I am noted for achieving academic excellence in my days in GS Mbelenka, GBSS Mbelenka, CCAST Bambili and ENS Bambili, UBa.
When I was in secondary school, I used to hear that those who work on computer technology don’t even have time to eat. Over the years, this has proven to be a reality in my life in many instances.
Every success story you see today all over the world has a heavy price tag paid by all great people.
To achieve success, you must be ready to go the extra mile in your pursuit, to study, practice, learn, explore and discover. Success demands a heavy sacrifice of your time, pleasures, and resources. Also note that success is not an overnight issue, it takes time to build up. So work hard, trust God and be patient.
You may be surprised, if not amazed to know how my work routine usually looks like. I work from 7:00am – 11pm in the night, with just some short breaks. That’s 16hr/24: but you may ask why I have to to do this: the answer is simply that I am preoccupied with the success of my clients, with a quest to give my clients the best result oriented solutions to their business or organization needs.
My wonderful big sister Antoinette used to ask me how it is like to be in front of the screen for the whole day? I will always tell her that I’m doing something that I love, which matters and is helping people.
The reality is that all the digital platforms that we are using today including Microsoft, Google, Facebook, etc have been built by men and women who have heavily invested their time and energy in them.
Before I end this episode, I will give you some success tips which I have personally applied to my life and they have yielded much results:
– Do something you love and feel comfortable and happy doing.
– Don’t let anyone stop you or talk you out of your passion, hold it tight and pursue it daily.
– Invest much time in learning, practicing and growing your passion.
– Know that success is progressive and often times gradual, so don’t expect it to happen overnight.
– Getting rich is also something that happens over time, don’t expect it to happen overnight.
– Focus more on what you are doing and in serving people and not just on the money. The money will flow naturally.
– Be consistent in pursuing your passion: learn, practice and grow everyday.
– Know your strengths, talents and gifts and focuss on them. Don’t do something just because others are doing it and succeeding.
